- 文章全体としては、learn about A, about B, about Cとなっており「A,B,Cを学んだ」ということ。
- varyは「変える」という意味の動詞。
- typography（タイポグラフィ）は、印刷物の「読みさやすさ」を実現するために考慮すべき様々なもの（文字の配置、間隔、書体 etc）といった感じ。接尾辞-graphy（手法）が付加されるのでそういった手法というイメージでもいいかもしれない。説明が難しいので詳細はWikiを参照。
- typefaces, serif, sans-serifについて
typefacesは「書体」のこと。WordやExcelを使ったことがある人なら馴染みのある単語。そして、その書体の中にはserif（セリフ：文字の飾りがあるもの）とsans-serif（サンセリフ：文字の飾りがないもの）の2種類がある。蛇足になるが、ポルトガル語でwithoutはsemというので、sans-serifはおそらくsans（ない）＋serif（セリフ）→「セリフ（飾り）なし」ということ。以上を図で説明したものが下記。

📘practical：DUOの例文#170で説明済み

- If I had never dropped in…, the Mac would have never…は、仮定法過去完了の形（過去事実に反する仮定）。
- multiple typefacesはパソコンで複数の書体を組み合わせて表示できる機能のこと。例えば、タイトルはゴシック体、本文は明朝体といった感じ。
- proportionally spaced fontsは「可変幅フォント」のこと。WordやExcelで書体を選ぶときに、MS明朝とMSP明朝という選択肢が出てくると思うが、この「P」はProportinalの略。下図のようにP付きの書体は「文字の間隔が均等に詰まっている」という特徴がある。proportionalはプロポーション（体の均等）という単語から分かるように「均整のとれた」という意味。そのため、proportionally spaced fontsで「均整のとれた間隔を空けたフォント」といった意味。

- that they doがちょっと分かりにくいが、thatは関係代名詞、theyはpersonal computers、doはhaveのこと。そのため、the wonderful typography that they doという形で「パソコンが持っている素晴らしいタイポグラフィ」ということ。

📘destiny：DUOの例文#143で説明済 - down the roadは「将来的に」といった感じ。英語ではdownやup等の方向を入れることが多い。その場合、downは離れる方向でupは近づく方向。例えば、go down this streetと言えば「この通りに沿って行って」となる。本題に戻って、down the roadは「自分の道に沿って行って」→「将来的に」ということ。
- confidenceは「自信」という意味。
